World cup event update and first day feedback Hello everyone, We have just completed the first day of our World Cup 2022 prediction event and would like to share some updates with you Volumes Put together, the predicted volume of this first prediction day is just over 10,800 $PROS, (about $USD13,000 at the time). We’re pleased to say that this is a very encouraging start, considering the current crypto market. For the first time, all predictions were made in $PROS only, as it was very important for us to create more use cases for our token. We will produce a more complete report on prediction statistics after the event. Group phase predictions Given this good starting day, we’re excited to announce that we have ultimately decided to - instead of just one per day of competition. You’ll now be able to support every single one of your favorite teams ! Speed pools In addition, people have been asking why the first match prediction ended 40 minutes before the game. We would like to take the opportunity to explain that this is a technical limitation : our pool timers are based on the BSC’s block length, hence slightly varying in duration. For this reason, we can not end the pool right at the start of the match because the timer might be offset and the pool might last until after the match has started. The timer offset increases with pool duration. As people were disappointed to not be able to predict until the last minute, which we perfectly understand, we have chosen two solutions: - Long term Prediction pools for matches will now start 24 hours and 30 minutes before each game and end between 30 and 0 minutes before the match. - In addition to long term pools, we will open for the most anticipated matches a Speed Pool. Speed pools are short term, 30 minutes predictions that will start 30 minutes before the match. Due to timer offset, the speed pool might end up closing after the start of the match. Think of it as high adrenalin short pools where anything can happen and you can predict until the very last moment. We’ll test the speed pool concept for the Netherland - Senegal match, which was selected to be tomorrow’s most anticipated pool through the DAO. If the pool is successful, we’ll do more speed pools on highly anticipated matches. Updates and fixes Today we collected community feedbacks and will be pushing some technical updates to the platform in the coming days: - Users will be able to see volumes predicted on each side of the pools in real time. - Users will be able to see total event volume. - Users will be able to see the ratios at pool closure on the closed pools. - The leaderboard will no longer be limited to the top 10 and will display all participating addresses. - Happy pools will be identified more clearly. - Settlement period for matches will be reduced to 2h after the end of the game instead of 22h. - Various fixes to responsiveness and UX of the platform. ___________________ We thank you for participating in predictions and helping us create such a successful event, The team.
